Liquid damage
As with the whole 14-inch line, this is the main board-level fault. Prompt, unpowered arrival makes the difference between a clean and a component-level rebuild.
XDR display damage
Same expensive mini-LED assembly as the A2442. Pressure and impact damage are the usual causes, and the whole assembly is replaced.
Port failures across MagSafe, HDMI, SD and Thunderbolt
Individually repairable at board level. HDMI 2.1 on this model is often used with high-refresh external displays, which increases wear.
Battery capacity loss on heavy workloads
Video and development work cycles the battery hard. Health below 80% or any swelling means replacement.
Firmware boot failure after an update
A DFU revive with a second Mac usually restores the machine without data loss, and we always try that first.
