Swollen battery pushing up the trackpad
The defining A1502 fault in 2026. These cells are now 10+ years old. Symptoms are a trackpad that will not click, a base that rocks on a flat table, or a bulging bottom cover. Same-day replacement and one of our most common jobs.
Storage full and slow performance
Most shipped with 128GB or 256GB. Upgrading to a 512GB or 1TB NVMe restores full speed and space, and this model makes it easy.
Backlight failure — screen dark but running
If you can see a faint desktop under a torch, the LCD is fine and the backlight circuit on the board has failed. Frequently mis-sold as a ₹20,000 display; it is a fraction of that.
Liquid damage
Recovery odds are relatively good on this board because components are larger and more accessible than on later models — provided the machine was not powered on after the spill.
Fan noise and thermal throttling
A decade of dust in the fan path plus dried thermal paste. A clean and repaste restores quiet running and stops throttling.

Batteries, SSD adapters and topcases remain widely available and inexpensive for this model.
One of the best repair candidates we handle. A battery plus an SSD upgrade typically lands under ₹18,000 and produces a machine that still handles documents, browsing, email and light editing comfortably. Only a combined board and display failure makes it uneconomical.
