Liquid damage
The largest keyboard deck of any MacBook means the biggest target for a spill. Board recovery is very achievable when the machine reaches us promptly and unpowered.
XDR display damage
The 16.2-inch mini-LED panel is the most expensive part in our entire workshop. Pressure and impact damage dominate, and there is no partial repair — the assembly is replaced.
Battery swelling and capacity loss
The 100Wh battery is the largest Apple ships in a laptop. Heavy charge cycling on professional workloads brings capacity loss sooner than owners expect, and swelling lifts the trackpad.
Port failures — MagSafe, HDMI, SD, Thunderbolt
Heavily used on desks with docks and external displays. All are individually repairable at board level.
Thermal performance under sustained export loads
The 16-inch cooling system is capable, but dust accumulation still causes throttling on long renders. Cleaning restores full sustained performance.
Soldered and Secure Enclave-encrypted — board repair is the only data recovery route.

The 16-inch XDR display is the highest-value part we order. Everything else is well supplied.
Board, port, battery and cooling repairs are straightforwardly worth doing on a machine of this value. The XDR display is a genuinely large expense — we will always show you the number and let you weigh it against the machine's remaining value before you commit.
