Display damage — the defining repair
The 15.3-inch panel is large, thin and the most expensive single part on this machine. Pressure cracks from bags and objects left on the keyboard dominate our A2941 intake.
Liquid damage
A larger keyboard area means more surface for a spill to enter. Board recovery rates are good when brought in quickly and not powered on.
MagSafe 3 and charging faults
The bigger battery draws more current, so charging circuit faults show up as slow charging or charging that stops partway before failing outright.
Speaker distortion after liquid ingress
The six-speaker array sits close to the keyboard deck. Even a small spill often reaches speakers before the board, producing crackling or muffled audio as the first symptom.
USB-C / Thunderbolt port wear
Both ports on one side, frequently used with hubs and external displays. Individually replaceable at board level.
Soldered and Secure Enclave-encrypted. No upgrades; board repair is the only path to data on a dead unit.

15-inch display assemblies are expensive and almost always need ordering — expect a few days longer than the 13-inch equivalent.
