Getting the A-number right matters — several MacBooks look identical externally but take completely different parts. Compare it against every model we repair if you are unsure.
These are the faults we see on this specific model at our Ghumar Mandi workshop — not a generic list. Recognising yours here usually means we already hold the parts and know the fix.
Battery swelling and reduced runtime
The 11-inch battery was small to begin with, so age hits it harder. Many surviving A1465 machines now manage under an hour. Replacement restores several hours of real use.
Cramped thermals and fan noise
The smaller chassis has less room for airflow, so dust build-up affects this model sooner than the 13-inch. A strip-down clean and fresh thermal paste resolves constant fan noise and throttling.
MagSafe 2 charging faults
Same separate, inexpensive MagSafe board as the A1466. Worth testing before assuming a logic board problem.
Hinge wear and lid flex
The small display assembly is light but the hinges still loosen with age, and the lid can develop flex that stresses the display cable.
Storage exhaustion
128GB of storage in 2026 fills almost immediately. This is the fault owners describe as "it has become slow" — and an SSD upgrade fixes it outright.
Same proprietary blade SSD as the A1466 and equally upgradeable with an adapter — a worthwhile upgrade given most shipped with just 128GB.
Reliable mechanism, but topcases for the 11-inch are scarcer than the 13-inch, so keyboard repairs can take longer to source.

Batteries and SSD adapters are readily available. Displays and 11-inch topcases are becoming scarce and may need ordering, which adds a few days.
Worth repairing for battery, storage, charging and cooling faults — all inexpensive. Display and topcase work is harder to justify given part scarcity and the machine's age. If you mainly need portability for notes, email and browsing, a battery and SSD keep it genuinely useful.
