Display
6.7" Super Retina XDR OLED
Years
2023 – 2025
Port
USB-C
Back glass
Laser separation
6.7-inch screen, USB-C, Dynamic Island, two cameras, mute switch on the left. The same size as a 15 Pro Max but with two cameras and aluminium sides.
Display
Large 60Hz OLED. Meaningfully cheaper to replace than the ProMotion panel in the same-size 15 Pro Max, which is the main repair-cost difference between the two.
Back glass
Colour-infused glass, laser separated. Same shade-matching caveat as the standard 15.
Face ID
Face ID components are paired to the logic board and the display. An aftermarket screen needs the pairing transferred by microsoldering, or Face ID stops working entirely.
Charging
USB-C, the first generation to switch. The port is a modular part rather than something soldered to the board, which makes port replacement cleaner than it was on Lightning models — but it also means cheap third-party cables and chargers now carry more risk, and we do see boards damaged by them.
Battery
The best battery life in the 15 line — a large cell driving a 60Hz panel. These almost never arrive for battery work yet.
Cracked 6.7-inch screen
The dominant repair on this model, and considerably cheaper than the equivalent on a 15 Pro Max.
USB-C port wear or damage
Modular port, cleanly replaceable. Cheap chargers remain the main cause.
Cracked back glass
Large colour-infused panel, laser separated.
Diagnosis is free and the price is confirmed in writing before any work starts — we quote the machine in front of us, not a description over the phone.
Repair it. A recent large-screen phone with the best battery of its generation, and repairs that cost a fraction of a replacement. If you are weighing this against upgrading to a Pro Max, fixing the Plus is almost always the better financial call.
Face ID is not a parts swap
On every iPhone from the X onward, the Face ID components are paired to your logic board. Anyone offering to restore Face ID by fitting a new module is mistaken — it is board-level work transferring your original parts, or it does not work at all.
