Shiv i Care
Display
6.3" Super Retina XDR, ProMotion OLED 120Hz
Years
2024 – 2025
Port
USB-C
Back glass
Laser separation
A 6.3-inch titanium Pro with three cameras, an Action Button and a Camera Control strip. Slightly larger than the 6.1-inch 15 Pro it replaced, with visibly thinner bezels.
Display
ProMotion OLED with always-on. Larger than the 15 Pro panel and not interchangeable with it despite the similar body — a point worth checking if someone quotes you a suspiciously cheap screen.
Back glass
Matte glass in a titanium frame, laser separated. The titanium chassis needs controlled heat, so this is bench work rather than a quick job.
Face ID
Face ID components are paired to the logic board and the display. An aftermarket screen needs the pairing transferred by microsoldering, or Face ID stops working entirely.
Charging
USB-C with faster data transfer than the base models. A marginal port repair here shows up as unreliable file transfer, not just charging trouble.
Battery
Uses the same electrically released adhesive as the rest of the generation, so replacement is cleaner than on the 15 Pro.
Cracked ProMotion panel
The most common repair. Insist on knowing the panel grade — 120Hz and always-on behaviour are where cheap assemblies fall short.
Camera Control faults
Camera Control, the pressure-sensitive strip on the right edge, is new to this generation and is a new thing to break. It is a discrete component and can be replaced without disturbing the rest of the phone.
Telephoto camera failure
The 5x module moved down from the Pro Max this generation. When it fails the long zoom is black while the other lenses work.
Diagnosis is free and the price is confirmed in writing before any work starts — we quote the machine in front of us, not a description over the phone.
Repair it — this is a current flagship and every repair on it is a fraction of replacement. The only place to be careful is the screen: a genuine ProMotion panel matters on this phone, and the gap between a fair quote and a cheap one is almost always the panel grade.
Face ID is not a parts swap
On every iPhone from the X onward, the Face ID components are paired to your logic board. Anyone offering to restore Face ID by fitting a new module is mistaken — it is board-level work transferring your original parts, or it does not work at all.
