Back glass
Bonded
The largest of the 2019 line: 6.5" screen, matte glass back, three cameras, stainless steel sides. Physically bigger than the 6.1" standard iPhone 11 and noticeably heavier.
Display
The largest OLED in this generation, and correspondingly the most expensive panel of the three to replace. Panel grade matters even more at this size — imperfections that are subtle on a 5.8-inch screen are obvious here.
Back glass
Large bonded matte panel. More surface area means a slower separation and a higher chance of a visible finish mismatch with an aftermarket part.
Face ID
Identical arrangement to the rest of the 11 line — dot projector paired to the board, so Face ID is a board-level repair rather than a module swap.
Charging
Lightning. Because these phones held their charge well, many have had unusually heavy cable use over the years and worn ports are common.
Battery
The strongest battery of the generation, which is why many 11 Pro Max units are only now arriving for their first cell replacement. Capacity below roughly 80% is the point at which most owners notice a real difference.
First battery replacement, arriving late
These lasted longer than their siblings, so a large share of the units we see are on their original cell and well overdue.
Cracked OLED on a large panel
The biggest screen in the line, and the most expensive to replace. Worth an honest value comparison before committing.
Charging port wear
Heavy long-term cable use shows up as a loose fit or charging only when the cable is held at an angle.
Rear camera glass cracking
The camera bump protrudes and takes the impact in a face-down drop. Cracked camera glass scatters light and ruins photos even when the module still works.
Diagnosis is free and the price is confirmed in writing before any work starts — we quote the machine in front of us, not a description over the phone.
Worth repairing for battery, port and camera faults, all of which are modest against what the phone still does well. The large OLED is the one to think about: if the screen is broken and the battery is also finished on a 2019 handset, the combined bill starts to approach the value of a newer used phone, and we will tell you when that line has been crossed.
Face ID is not a parts swap
On every iPhone from the X onward, the Face ID components are paired to your logic board. Anyone offering to restore Face ID by fitting a new module is mistaken — it is board-level work transferring your original parts, or it does not work at all.
